Overview
Up for sale is a classic Dell Latitude D630 business notebook. This machine was working perfectly and running an activated version of Windows 10 Home (upgraded from the original Windows 7 Pro) until a recent attempt to upgrade the RAM.
Current Configuration
-
Model: Dell Latitude D630
-
CPU: Intel Centrino (Core 2 Duo era)
-
Current RAM: 4GB Total (2GB in back slot, 2GB in front slot)
-
OS: Windows 10 Home (Activated)
-
Condition: Used - Read carefully below regarding the memory upgrade issue.
The "Project" Status (Read Before Buying)
I recently tried to upgrade the memory from 2GB to 4GB.
-
I successfully installed a 2GB stick in the back slot.
-
The laptop booted and worked with 3GB (2GB back + 1G front).
-
The Issue: When I tried to replace the front 1GB stick with a second 2GB stick, the laptop would not boot.
-
The Hardware Obstacle: While attempting to re-seat or swap the front memory, one of the internal screws stripped (as shown in the provided photos).
-
I have stopped the repair to avoid further damage to the plastic bezel/panel.
What’s Included
-
Dell Latitude D630 Laptop
-
Existing 4GB RAM installed (2GB + 2GB)

Ideal For:
This is a great unit for a hobbyist, technician, or "retro-tech" enthusiast who has the tools to remove a stripped screw and finish the memory seating. The screen, keyboard, and motherboard were all fully functional prior to this upgrade attempt.
Sold AS-IS for parts or repair due to the stripped screw and unconfirmed front RAM slot status.
