A Video That Really Helps! Mar 28, 2000

The Sesame Street "Getting Ready For School" video is one of the most educational in the series. Many children are intimidated by their first day, but Big Birg and Snuffy make sure that you feel comfortable. By singing great songs (like "Raise Your Hand", "Children In Our Class", and "Tying Your Shoelace") this video makes learning fun! I first watched the video about 12 years ago, and its still one of my favorite videos.

This is my favorite for 1 year olds to Kindergarten. It helps with preschool anixety and makes everything seem familar. The children love the songs and learn so quickly. We have watched it hundreds of times through all the children. I had first purchased this video in 1990 for my beautiful step daughters age 4 and 6 at the time. Big bird made putting on your own coat so easy that when we added babies the 14 month old learned to put his own coat on too. It encouraged even toddles to learn to tie their own shoes and reveiwed the alphabet. When our youngest hit second grade it was time to pass on the video. We gave the video to my oldest daughter for her child and now we find ourselves not done having children. I have been looking for this video and wish it was in DVD format for the future and my grandchildren. I look forward to it's arrival as we buy it for the second time and the seventh and eighth child in our home.
