Linksys wireless g card Jun 09, 2007
By W. A. Lardin

This item is one in a long line of wireless cards from Linksys. It comes with good documentation and software, is easy to install and works right away. I bought it to be able to use WPA-PSK and it can handle that up to 63 characters. I am using it with an IBM T-23 laptop, and it works just like advertised.

Great Product Mar 30, 2008
By D. Golub This product works great, I've had it for a couple of months, and it has worked as described. No problems. I have Windows XP, and an older lap top (2002?). Works great.

Works Well With My Linksys Wireless Router Dec 04, 2007
By D. Childs It took awhile, but I was successful getting this wireless adapter to work in my old Windows 98SE IBM ThinkPad. The software is nicely compatable with my Linksys wireless router so I was able to use WAP encription instead of WEP (which is so easy to hack these days). The very small antenna on this PCMCIA card is sufficient to pick up a good signal anywhere in our 2 story home. (My wireless router is in the basement.)

You may save $50 or ... Dec 23, 2008

... you may just be throwing $11 plus shipping and hours of your time down a rat hole. I bought a "retail box" version of this adapter from Amazon last week for about $20. After installing it in my IBM Thinkpad laptop, I found that the laptop would no longer go into standby (sleep) with the adapter present. Further on-line investigation suggests that the Linksys driver does not properly implement Microsoft's NDIS driver standard in the area of device power control, and hence blocks the standby operation.
Linksys' driver for the device I bought (WRT54G, v3) was last updated over two years ago, although a search shows that numerous other purchasers of this device been have complained about this problem, as well as the ineffectiveness of Linksys customer service. As a retired Cisco exec, I am truly ashamed of the shoddy quality of this device software.

Works like a charm. Feb 19, 2008

I purchased this card for use in an older Toshiba laptop computer. I was easily able to setup the card and all worked well. It is relatively fast and has been trouble free for about a month now. At the price, I strongly recommend this card.
