5Great cable - used to modify my factory car stereo  May 26, 2010
By J. Lingle
I used this cable to add a 3.5mm audio jack to my 2006 Mazdaspeed 6 Grand Touring factory Bose stereo based on a post in the mazda 6 forums I found. I had been listening to my iPhone 3GS using an FM modulator for several years, as my factory stereo didn't have a 3.5mm jack.

Per the instructions in the forum thread, I ordered this classic style CDROM audio cable and inserted one end onto the appropriate pins in the DSub connector on the back of the stereo. I then removed the connector on the other end of the cable and soldered the 3 individual wires to a 3.5mm jack I bought at Radio Shack (right audio, left audio, and source).

After installing the jack into my dash with a 1.4" drill bit, I now have CD quality sound from my iPhone using the "Media" button in my factory stereo. This cable was perfect for the job and sounds incredible. I realize that this review may not be relevant to the computer-related intended use for the cable, but I'm giving it 5 stars anyway because it sounds great regardless of how it's used!

5Works  Jul 28, 2010
By Robert Brooks
There's not much else to say, except that the cable worked for my CD-Rom drive that was missing the audio cable. It is extremely long, so it should work in almost any computer case. In fact, it is almost too long, and I had to make sure to zip tie it so my computer wires were not so cluttered.

5Just worked  May 08, 2008

Not much more can be said of this other than it worked. Came pretty much like it shows in the pictures, and worked fine.
