Poor does not begin to describe this book or the Publisher Nov 13, 2000
By Steven S. Smith After completing the first 4 chapters, I found numerous errors in the code. Then I made the mistake of opening the CD at the back of the book. Well interestingly enough the code on the disk is correct sometimes. However, I did not make this purchase so that I could learn by de-bugging their errors. So I attempted to return this book and since the software has been opened I can not take it back. So I contacted the publisher, they said they would send me a refund, 6 weeks later I contacted them again, they said it must have got lost in the mail. It has been another month to the day and still no refund. Save your money...

Don't buy this book Jun 06, 2001
By David I grant you that I am only about 90 pages into the book. But almost every example of code they provide contains mistakes or errors that have taken me hours to unwind. From the number of typos and code mistakes, it appears to me that no one ever took the time to read through the book to see if it made sense, or if the code would work. This is the shoddiest computer book I have ever shelled out [a lot]. Coriolis should be ashamed.

Full of mistakes. Aug 22, 1999
By Julie Gaines I read the other reviews before buying this book, but because I had heard some great reviews about the Black Book, I decided to try it anyway. I should have listened to the other reviews. I think it would be a really good book if the examples were not full of errors.

The worst... most frustrating... waste of money... errors Feb 21, 2001
By Terry LeBlanc This book has to be the most carelessly written book considering its intended readership. The reader should not have to contend with code that is incorrect. Learning VB is difficult enough without the frustration of feeling like you are being sabotaged by the authors. This book is a nightmare. I take back my 1 star.

Awful! Should be recalled! Feb 18, 2000

I would have rated this book zero stars, but that isn't an option, so I had to rate it one star. It doesn't deserve that. I bought the book and started to work through the projects. I wish I had read the reviews before I bought the book. There were compile errors in their code and nothing ran! That's the case in two out of two projects. I've e-mailed the authors to see if there are corrections for the book, but overall I am very unimpressed.
